bothwell was a ’scary’ place as the village’s first Bothwell Scarecrow Festival proved an outstanding success.
The parade along the Main Street to Wooddean Park was followed by a variety of fun activities, the highlight of which was a ‘Drakes of Hazard’ demonstration as sheepdogs showed their skills by rounding up a variety of geese and ducks.
The event, which also raised funds for Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, is set to be repeated next year and could well become an annual event.
Organising committee chairman Harry Marsh said: “The response we got to the event was absolutely terrific and not event the rain could dampen anyone’s spirits.
“We had between 250 and 300 scarecrows and people were saying they had lived in the village for years and had never seen anything like it.”
