YOUNGSTERS at Ailsa Nursery Centre in Motherwell have their fingers crossed for fine weather this summer more than most after the opening of a new community garden on the site.
Children celebrated the grand unveiling of their new garden on Thursday, with local councillor Michael Ross cutting the ribbon.
And our photographer Alan Watson was on hand to capture the little ones putting on a show.
The garden was created after a £10,000 contribution from North Lanarkshire Council, and the same sum from the Awards for All scheme - as well as plenty of hard work along the way.
Marion Reid, head of the nursery, said: “The new garden is great, and the children are absolutely loving it.”
