TWO men were rushed to hospital following an apparently unprovoked double stabbing in Motherwell.

Detectives launched an investigation after the pair were attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident came just hours after the funeral of Blantyre teenager Reamonn Gormley, who was stabbed and killed earlier this month, and amid renewed concern over Scotland’s knife culture.

The victims - aged 21 and 22 - had been walking on Shields Drive, near Valley View, when they were attacked by a group of around 10 people at 3am.
