Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses and information after a 15-year-old boy was injured following a road crash in Motherwell.

Around 8.50am, police received a report that a young man had been struck by a red Mitsubishi Colt travelling east on the B7029 New Stevenston (Carfin Street near to its junction with Station Road).

The victim suffered a head injury and fractured wrist.

Emergency Services attended and the victim was taken to Southern General Hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

The driver of the car was uninjured but has been left distressed by the incident.

Officers from Road Policing in Motherwell are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information regarding the incident to get in touch with them via the non-emergency police number, 101.
