The road was previously in a very poor condition with an uneven surface proliferated by cracks and potholes throughout.

Motherwell South East and Ravenscraig councillor Nathan Wilson had reported the matter to roads officers at North Lanarkshire Council in the early months of 2018 and asked that a resurfacing scheme be investigated.

Councillor Wilson has paid a visit to Laurel Drive in the period following the completion of the resurfacing programme, which took place, last month and believes the road is now in a far healthier state.

He said: “Laurel Drive is looking fantastic now that the council’s resurfacing programme is complete’.

“I have visited the road since the completion of the repairs and it looks night and day compared to how it was previously’.

“The road had been in an extremely poor condition and it was apparent that a resurfacing scheme was required to bring it up to an acceptable standard’.

“I asked for the council to investigate the possibility of resurfacing Laurel Drive earlier in the year and I am pleased for residents that the road has now been brought up to scratch.”
