There’s bugs and beasties galore at Baron’s Haugh

THE amazing world of bugs and beasties will be on show at Baron’s Haugh nature reserve in Motherwell this school holiday, with a fun event for all the family.

Brilliant Bugs runs next Wednesday (April 10) from 2 until 4pm, and from millipedes to spiders, there will be plenty of scuttling and wriggling creatures to find.

Stephen Owen, RSPB Scotland warden at Baron’s Haugh, said: “Baron’s Haugh is home to a huge range of little beasties. They may be small and easy to overlook, but get a little closer and they are often beautiful and have fascinating lives.

“And there are plenty of them out there, so there’s always something to see!”

Places for the walk are limited so please book in advance. The event leaves from the car park at Baron’s Haugh at 2pm.

The event costs £2 for adults, £1 for children and is free for RSPB members. Children under 16 are welcome, but should be accompanied by an adult.
