Once again Times & Speaker readers have proven to be angels as they backed our Christmas Present Appeal in huge numbers.
The appeal is run in association with the Salvation Army and the gifts collected will ensure people of all ages will wake up to a present on Christmas Day when they might otherwise have had nothing.
Major James Rorie said: “We travel all over the country and the need is so great. There are so many people in desperate situations.
“However, thanks to the generosity of readers of the Times & Speaker we can ensure that many of them enjoy receiving a gift on Christmas Day and know someone is thinking about them.”
Times & Speaker editor Martin Clark said: “Every year our readers prove how generous they are. I can’t thank them enough for supporting this great appeal.
“Even though times are hard and people might be struggling to make ends meet, our readers and a range of local organisations and companies never let us down.”
