It was a case of ‘rock while you shop’ for customers at Bellshill’s Tesco store as staff hit a musical note for charity.
More than 60 members of staff added a dash of colour when they dressed up and joined collegues from Tesco stores throughout the UK in a bid to break the world record for the largest air guitar ensemble. The supermarket giant was relying on around 2,400 employees to take part in the musical extravaganza if the attempt was to be successful.
It was all in aid of two worthy causes - the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK - and, while it’s not yet known whether they succeeded in their quest, the Tesco staff have fingers crossed that they’ve played their way into the record books.
Supporting activities at the Bellshill store over a busy weekend included karaoke and colouring in stations for youngsters. Hot dogs and mocktails were served to boost funds.
The total raised at the store was £381 and the organisers thank all staff who participated and all customers who showed their support.
