Organisers of Bellshill Street Fair this week urged anyone wishing a stall at the event to contact them as soon as possible.

This year’s event will take place from Saturday to Monday, May 24-26, and will be opened by on Lanarkshire Muslim Welfare Association general secretary Ghulam Siddiquie.

Duncan McLeod, secretary of organisers Bellshill Community Council, said: “Mr Siddiquie has worked tirelessly to try and bring harmony between everyone in the Bellshill/Mossend area.

“I have arranged as usual the stalls to be erected on Saturday where local charities and churches are coming and taking up these spaces.

“I normally have erected 30 stalls and there are still a few left.”

The weekend will include the usual activities such as rides, DJ, entertainment from the Salvation Army Band and Bellshill & District Concert Brass and dance displays from Carol McLean and her Dance Dynamics Cheer Squad, Nadia Henry and Street Dance Crew Dance Academy and Leanne Bence and Signature Dance Squad.

Stalls are allocated on a first come first served basis - email, phone 01698 749066 or text to 07746 681420.
