A man armed with a knife robbed the Royal Bank of Scotland in Tannochside on Friday.
Staff at the branch in Thorniewood Road were unhurt, but left “extremely shaken” after being threatened during the raid at 2.40pm.
The man fled with a four-figure sum and escaped in a waiting silver Vauxhall Vectra, which was later found burnt-out 3.5 miles away near Easterhouse.
Detective Constable Iain Hughes, from Wishaw CID, said: “No one was injured during this incident, but the bank staff are extremely shaken by the robbery.
“The suspect is described as white, around 5’ 10” tall, of slim build and with short fair hair.
“Officers are following a positive line of enquiry at this time and are continuing to carry out enquiries in the Uddingston and Easterhouse area.
“I would ask anyone with information that may assist our ongoing investigation to contact Wishaw CID through 101. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
