STAFF and pupils at Our Lady’s High School were left shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Charlie Thomson, a well-known member of the school community.
A member of the school’s support for learning department for many years, although retired from the school, he continued to work as a driver for North Lanarkshire Council and took a number of pupils to school on a daily basis.
He died suddenly at his home during the night on Monday, December 17, having been in school and working as usual earlier that day. He was 67.
Headteacher Kathleen Sinclair said: “Charlie was in school and working as usual on the Monday evening so his death has come as a shock to staff and pupils across the school.
“We are all very saddened by this tragic event.”
