A NEW Stevenston schoolgirl has won her first acting role alongside a Scottish soap favourite.
Amy Forrester (8), of Atlin Drive, was selected from hundreds of auditionees to star in the Scottish Government’s new Take Life On advert, which aims to encourage parents to become more active with their children.
Filmed at a ‘freezing’ Ruchill Park in Glasgow, the Newarthill Primary pupil appears alongside Carmen Pieraccini, who is best known as Kelly-Marie in River City and indie-film star Samanatha Shields, having been discovered by the United Casting agency.
This isn’t Amy’s first time working with a celebrity as over the festive period she, and her UK Theatre School classmates, were invited to take part in the pantomime at the SECC alongside John Barrowman and The Krankies.
Her mum Nicola said: “We don’t know where she got it from, but it seems Amy is a just a born performer.
“At the moment she says she wants to be an actress when she is older, but we’ll see how things go.
“We were delighted when Amy got her first job for the Scottish Government and so long as it’s fun and she enjoys it then we are happy for her to carry on, but we’d never push her.”
