“The SNP manifesto is a bold, ambitious, and primed to tackle inequality and deliver for Scotland.

“Our actions in Government and our new commitments have resonated with Scottish voters; they have judged our record, scrutinised our plans, and resoundingly backed the SNP to form the next Scottish Government for an historic fourth term.

“I am ready to help deliver the transformative agenda set out during this campaign.

“I want to thank my staff for their tireless dedication and support. I want to thank local activists who continue to work so hard to achieve our aims. I want to pass on my best to the other candidates; now that the dust has settled, I hope that individuals across the political spectrum can work collegiately to help our community.

“And I want to thank everyone who voted. If you voted for me, I will work every day to repay that faith. If you did not vote for me, I will work every day to change your mind. I will fight for all of my constituents and our Motherwell and Wishaw community."
