Police in Motherwell have appealed for witnesses after three thefts or attempted break-ins at schools in the town in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.

The first of the incidents took place at Knowetop Primary School, Knowetop Avenue, when a window was smashed around 3am.

Around an hour later persons entered Dalziel High School in Crawford Street and attempted to steal from within.

And a third school was targeted around 5am when Cathedral Primary in Milton Street was broken into.

On this occasion the thieves escaped with a white Apple iMac with keyboard, mouse and e-scanner.

Police say they would like to hear from anyone who knows anything about any of the incidents.
