Police hunt farm thugs after sheep butchered

POLICE are investigating a ‘mindless’ attack which left two sheep dead at the weekend.

Officers attended a farm near Glen Noble, Cleland, after reports three people and two dogs were seen in the area on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed one of the trio was hitting a sheep with a stick.

Officers arrived on the scene to find one sheep hung from a fence and another seriously injured. Both later died.

A third sheep which was attacked is currently being treated and looked after by the farmer in the hope it will recover from the ordeal.
