Surprise visit for Newarthill team

Players from Newarthill football team Yett Farm received a surprise visit from residents of Motherwell's twin town during a training session at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.

Uwe Walther and Dirk Jauchstetter from the Twinning Association in Schweinfurt, popped by while they were here to organise Scottish theme goods for the North Lanarkshire twinning stand at next month’s consumer fayre in the German town.

Around 20 players from Yett Farm went to Schweinfurt earlier this year to represent North Lanarkshire in an international tournament for 11-year-olds.

After visiting the youngsters Uwe and Dirk were were guests of Yett Farm manager David Donaldson and his wife Jayne.
