Pupils from Bellshill Academy’s rugby team were on the ball when they took part in a hugely successful youth rugby festival at Dalziel Rugby Club in Motherwell in April 2002.

They were among 700 youngsters, boys and girls, aged between eight and 18 from all over Lanarkshire and beyond who took part in the event.

Among the highlights was a visit during the festival by First Minister and Motherwell and Wishaw MSP Jack McConnell.
