RSPB Scotland Baron’s Haugh in Motherwell has welcomed a new warden.
Mark Mitchell, who has worked in various roles with RSPB Scotland since 2012, is already getting stuck in to his role managing the reserve for both wildlife and people.
He will also be looking after a second RSPB Scotland reserve at Airds Moss in South Ayrshire.
He said: “It’s great to be working at Baron’s Haugh and I’m really looking forward to the challenges ahead. It’s an exciting, diverse site, from the wetland to the managed parkland, with amazing wildlife like nuthatches and otters.
“There’s also a fantastic team of volunteers who put in a lot of hard work. I can’t wait to start running events.”
