A Motherwell man who sparked a major search operation after going missing has been charged with rape.
Gary Pugh (34), of Milton Street, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court two days after he was traced.
He went missing from his home on October 29. Police concerned for his well-being made several appeals for information and used a helicopter and dogs in a massive search.
They announced earlier this week he had been found safe and well.
Pugh faced charges of rape and lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour during an appearance in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
He made no plea, the case was continued for further enquiries and he was allowed bail.
