Michelle Blair from Motherwell has made it to the finals of the National Youth Worker of the Year Awards being held in Glasgow next month.
Michelle has been nominated for her work with young people across North Lanarkshire.
In the last two years as a part-time youth worker for Reeltime Music in Newarthill, she has clocked up nearly 800 hours of volunteering and has delivered weekly sessions as a music tutor to many disadvantaged youngsters.
As well as her work with the music project, she has also helped break down the stigma of mental health through her involvement in the Scottish Mental Health and Arts Festival.
Central Scotland list MSP Clare Adamson, who nominated Michelle for an award, said: “Michelle is without doubt one of the hardest working, persistent youth workers that Reeltime has had and she has achieved so much since her time there, not only personally but she has inspired so many young people through her dedication and love of music.”
The awards dinner will take place on Thursday, March 10, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
