Logans Primary dinner lady Margaret Donnelly has retired after nearly 20 years at the school. Margaret started in October 1995 having previosuly been a cleaner at Firpark School and admits that a lot has changed over the last two decades.
She said: “Things have certainly changed in the time I’ve been doing this job, it used to be all about mince and potatoes and caramel cake and custard.
“I would hope nowadays we’ve moved on and that school meals are a lot tastier and healthier for children, all kids still love burgers and chips, but they have so many more options and there is a big push towards nutrition and making them think about what they are eating.
”I’ve really enjoyed my time at Logans Primary, I could have retired in January, but I decided just to hang on for a few more months and I’ll miss everyone.
“I have no real plans for what to do with myself now, I’m sure I’ll be kept busy, but also looking forward to the chance to relax.”
