Little gerbils need a loving home

EVERY week the Times & Speaker teams up with the Scottish SPCA in a bid to rehome a pet.

And this week it is the turn of a lovely gerbil family, who are currently staying at the charity’s Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Hamilton.

Centre manager Karen Russell said, “We currently have four gerbils looking for new homes. Simone gave birth to daughter Mistletoe here in the centre in December. She also had two males, who we’ve named Cracker and Pudding. Gerbils are sociable and will live happily in single sex pairs so we would like to keep mum and daughter and the two brothers together. These friendly little cuties love to dig and play.”

If you can offer Simone and Mistletoe or Cracker and Pudding their forever homes, please call the SSPCA Animal Helpline 03000 999 999, quoting ref Motherwell Times.

The Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, on Bothwell Road, is open Monday to Sunday, 10am until 4pm.
