Lisa's opening her home to help the homeless

A Motherwell woman is heading an attempt to help homeless people in Lanarkshire and Glasgow this winter.

Lisa Schoneville is opening up her home tomorrow (Wednesday) for donations of clothing, food, toiletries and other items.

She is encouraging people to fill rucksacks and handbags which can also be donated to the appeal, although items in carrier bags will also be accepted gratefully.

Lisa’s home will be open for donations between 5pm and 9pm. Anyone wishing to contribute should call 07732887762 or visit the Lanarkshire Community Combats Homelessness Facebook page for more details.

Lisa and friends are working with the Simon Community and donations will be sent to the organisation’s base in Glasgow.

Donations could include sleeping bags, foil blankets, socks, underwear, scarves and hats as well as tinned food and cereal bars.
