Supermarket chain Lidl is today unveiling plans for a new distribution centre which would create jobs at Eurocentral.

The company says it wants to relocate from Livingston “as part of ongoing expansion plans”.

A community consultation is taking place at Holytown’s Michal Sherry Community Centre today (Friday) from 3pm to 7pm.

A Lidl spokesman said: “Following a full community consultation, we plan to lodge a detailed planning application. The new warehouse would take around two years to build.

“If planning consent is granted it would lead to major investment and employment opportunities in the area.”
