Laura named as a rising star

Motherwell woman Laura Devine has been nominated for an award after her popular wedding blog turned into a business

The former Dalziel High pupil started her wedding blog, DevineBride.co.uk, when she got engaged in 2015 to fill a gap in the market within the Scottish community in London where she now lives.

Following its success, she has recently left her day job in the city and has launched her own wedding tasking business, Devine Bride, and has been featured in Your London Wedding Magazine and Zexy Premier Japanese Wedding Magazine, as well as doing guest posts for FlorisLondon.com and CassieFairy.com.

Laura said: “I started my blog as a creative outlet during my wedding journey and, following its success, became inundated with requests for wedding help from friends and family. So much so that I decided to leave my day job working as an operations manager to pursue my passion full time.

“Wedding planners are expensive and intimidating, I’m a wedding tasker so much more affordable and approachable. I’ve been through it myself so I know the ups and downs, the stresses, and a lot of tricks learned the hard way.”
