A Newarthill man has been recognised with an award for his part in the aftermath of the George Square bin lorry tragedy. Keith McRavey (pictured far right) was part of a team of team of voluntary first aiders from the St Andrew’s Ambulance Association who helped at the scene last December. He was presented with a Brave Heart award by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at a ceremony in Edinburgh. Ms Sturgeon said: “The awards are an opportunity for Scotland to say thank you to the Brave Heart recipients.
Their selflessness, compassion and courage is inspiring, and an example to us all.”
