A BELLSHILL supermarket worker is preparing to take his charity fundraising to new heights - by taking part in a 10,000ft jump from a plane.
Jonathan Watson, who works at Tesco in town, will be taking part in a tandem skydive on Saturday to raise vital funds for Alzheimer Scotland.
The 22-year-old will head to Errol Airfield in Perth to complete the jump to raise funds for the charity, which, along with the Alzheimer’s Society, is Tesco’s charity of the year.
He said: “I’m a little nervous about the jump, but also really excited. I just want to raise as much as I can for Alzheimer Scotland.”
Staff at the store will support their colleague’s fundraising by holding a charity car wash on Saturday with a helping hand from the fire brigade.
Tesco’s community champion Carol Warrington added: “Jonathan is fundraising in such a brave and different way that we are asking all staff and customers to be as generous as they can when supporting him.”
