Final preparations are being made for the sixth annual Bothwell Scarecrow Festival which kicks off this weekend.

The nine-day programme begins with a football tournament on Saturday followed by cycling and 5km and 10km fun runs on Sunday.

Colourful scarecrows are popping up all over the village, with neighbourhoods coming up with all sorts of ideas they try to wrest the title of best street away from Kirklands Crescent.
