Hundreds turn out for funeral of Craig Dymock

More than 500 people have today attended the funeral in Bellshill of businessman Craig Dymock folowing his sudden death at the age of 49.

The popular dad of two, who ran his own double glazing window business, collapsed and died while out cycling with his brother.

Onlookers said they had never seen Bellshill West Parish Church so packed. The church, which seats around 500, was full and some mourners were standing.

A police escort was required as the funeral cortege then made its way to Holytown Crematorium.

Craig, who lived in New Stevenston, was married to Joanne and the couple had two daughters, Danielle and Amy.

The funeral service was led by Rev Calum Stark and an eulogy was given by Craig’s brothers Tom and David.

Craig attended Bellshill West as a boy and was in the Boys’ Brigade there.

Mr Stark said: “His death has been a great shock and there is an overwhelming sense that he will be missed by very many people. He had so many connections through his business, cycling and the church.”
