Next year The Easter Egg Club celebrates 70 years since it was formed and are looking for additional cast members to mark this milestone.

Each year in late April the club performs a musical revue in Motherwell Theatre featuring popular music covering a wide variety of styles and eras.

The club also has a busy social calendar as well as a concert party group that entertains on a regular basis throughout Lanarkshire and beyond.

The next show runs from April 25-29 and from late September rehearsals, take place on Thursdays from 7.15-9.30pm, with a Sunday afternoon from 2-5pm added after the Christmas break.

No previous experience is necessary just have a reasonable singing voice, be able to move to music and have a desire to work hard whilst having fun along the way.

The club would also be delighted to welcome back former members who would be interested in taking part in all or part of the show.

At this year’s show “Viva Las Vegas” held in Motherwell Theatre the Easter Egg Club held a bucket collection after each performance to raise much needed funds for Musical Memories Dementia Choir based at St John’s Church in Hamilton.

The group provides an opportunity for people experiencing memory loss or dementia to sing and have fun with friends and family.

As a result of this collection the club was able to present a cheque for £1,000 to the choir at a recent fundraising concert.

It was organised by club member Julie Little who is pictured presenting the cheque to choir president Sam Thompson.

The choir meets on the first Wednesday of each month, for more information visit the website or call 01555 660329.
