Amy Brown (nee Gordon), previously from Holytown, celebrated her 100th birthday last week at Morningside Care Home with family, friends and staff.
Amy was also joined by North Lanarkshire provost Jean Jones and depute Lieutenant Gavin Whitefield, who presented her with a birthday card and a basket of flowers on behalf of both the councillors and staff of North Lanarkshire Council.
Amy was widowed in 1977 when her husband Bill died. She has a daughter, two grand-children and two great grand-children.
Amy enjoyed a lovely day on her special birthday and would like to thank everyone for their cards and kindness.
