Holy Trinity Church in Motherwell celebrated the 70th anniversary of VJ Day with a WW2 themed party on Saturday.
The Rev Alan Wylie said: “With VJ Day we thought it was the perfect time to organise a social occasion to get together and share a few memories.
“We have quite a few members of the congregation who remember the end of the war and they brought along memorabilia from the time such as medals and discharge papers, we even had our own ‘Siegfried Line’, and everyone said how much they enjoyed it.”
Holy Trinity holds a joint service in St Andrew’s, Wishaw, on Sunday, August 30, at 10.30am. There will be no service in Holy Trinity that day.”
