MOTHERWELL FC Community Trust is offering a 10-week activity programme to 80 older people over the next two years following a grant from the Scottish Sport Relief.
The SPL Trust has received a total grant of £214,500 to roll out the ‘Home and Away Programme’ which is jointly funded by the Scottish Government, to enable SPL community trusts to deliver activity sessions.
Participants will help design the itinerary of sessions, choosing from a range of physical, social and well-being activities, and also told how to access similar activities elsewhere.
Motherwell FC Community Trust programme development manager Graeme McArthur said: “We’re delighted to have received this funding through the Home and Away Programme.
“We’re fully committed to playing an active role within the community and believe this project will deliver a range of positive benefits and outcomes for older people.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming participants and working with our partners to ensure we meet the needs of the community and deliver a quality programme that contributes to the legacy from the 2014 Games.”
