There was music in the air when pupils and staff at Fallside School hosted a tea dance for pensioners in Viewpark Community Education Centre.

As well as providing excellent hospitality for their guests, the school secured the services of a lively 12-piece band who use the centre for practice sessions.

Various OAP groups were invited to attend, with the school keen to establish and maintain links with organisations in the community.

Principal teacher Laura Hislop said: “It was a fantastic occasion which everyone seemed to enjoy, and there were lots of nice comments about our pupils.

“We hope to organise another tea dance in the near future, but before that we hope organisations will support our Christmas coffee morning.”

The only downside was that members of Tannochside Senior Citizens’ Centre were unable to attend last week’s event because of a funeral.

However, Fallside pupils and staff intend to visit the Tannochside centre soon to make up for them missing out on this occasion.
