A £1.6 million fleet of new buses is transporting pupils to and from additional support needs schools in North Lanarkshire.
The 19 Iveco 26-seater vehicles were bought by North Lanarkshire Council after consultation with parents and schools.
The new buses are white and have no council logo so they don’t stand out unlike the old yellow ones. The council says they will blend in better.
Councillor Helen McKenna said: “Our 26-seat school buses had all reached the end of their lives, so we have replaced the fleet with new vehicles which are both easier and cheaper to maintain and meet new ‘Euro 6’ regulations on emissions.”
