A MOTHERWELL couple who met on a bus trip to Girvan are celebrating their long journey in life together by marking their diamond wedding anniversary,
Jean (82) and William (84) Marshall married in the Guide hall on Park Street, Motherwell on December 29, 1951.
The couple have one daughter Linda who is married to David, and they have two grandchildren Ross and Laura.
They worked for Philips before retiring and are both active members of North Motherwell Church, where Jean is an elder.
They celebrated their 60 years together surrounded by friends and family and wish to thank everyone for their kind thoughts.
The couple say their secret is that they are content with life, and look forward to many more years together.
