Cyclist Kirsty to hold charity night

NEWARTHILL fundraiser Kirsty Gardiner is planning a charity night.

The 24-year-old has signed up for the Olympics-inspired Dallaglio Flintoff Cycle Slam.

The event, led by rugby star Lawrence Dallaglio and cricketing legend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, will kick off in Greece on April 23 and finish in London on May 18. Kirsty will participate in stage one, from April 23 to 26, covering 352 miles.

The cycle is sponsored by Virgin Media and will raise money for the Dallaglio Foundation, the AF (Andrew Flintoff) Foundation and Virgin Unite.

Kirsty must raise at least £3,000, and is organising a fundraiser at the Little Flower Hall, Carfin, on Saturday, March 3.

Tickets cost £5. For more information, e-mail Kirsty at
