Police want talk to these people

The police has released an image of a man and a woman they believe may be able to assist their investigation into a serious assault in Motherwell.

Around 9pm on Saturday, September 8, a 45-year-old man was standing on Windmillhill Street near the New Century Bar when he was assaulted and left requiring hospital treatment.

Officers believe the man and woman may have information that can assist them with their enquiries.

The man is described as white, of medium to stocky build, aged 35-45 years, around 6’1” tall, with short light coloured hair. He was wearing a light coloured shirt, black jacket and jeans.

The woman is described as white, aged 30-40 years, around 5’6” tall, with shoulder length blonde hair, and of slim build. She was wearing a green dress, dark jacket and carrying a small black handbag.

Police Constable Stephen Morrison, Wishaw Police Office, said: “I am appealing to people who may have seen or heard something related to this incident who perhaps didn’t realise the relevance at the time.

“It may not have seemed unusual then but in the context of the crime taking place, it could be vital information which could assist our investigation.

“I would also appeal to anyone who recognises the man and woman , or the persons themselves, to contact police at the earliest opportunity.”
