Man’s body is discovered in River Clyde after Uddingston based search

It has now been confirmed that the body of a missing man has been found in the River Clyde near Uddingston.

The grim find was made around 2pm yesterday (Monday August 17) after an intensive search of the waterway since Saturday.

The man has now been named as Robert Kelly who was 44-years- old.

His family have been made aware of the discovery.

Formal identification is yet to take place and a post mortem will carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

However, police have stressed that Mr Kelly’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
