Hunt for man who exposed himself in Bellshill

Police are hunting a man who exposed himself to a woman in Bellshill on Friday (June 26) afternoon.

The 28-year-old female was walking on North Road, near Hattonrigg Road, around 4pm when she became aware of a man following her.

He approached the victim, exposing himself and committing an indecent act.

The suspect is described as white, aged 25-30, 5’7” with a square face and flat nose. He was wearing a black waterproof jacket with the hood pulled up, black trousers and slip on shoes.

PC Garry Cook, of Bellshill Police, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the woman, who was simply making her way to work in the middle of the afternoon.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises the description of this man, or who perhaps noticed someone acting suspiciously in the area of North Road / Hattonrigg Road that day to come forward.
