Police are hunting two youths who carried out a robbery at a Bellshill computer shop in broad daylight.

One of the pair threatened the 30-year-old male shopkeeper with a hammer before they made off with a small sum of money and a mobile phone.

The robbery happened around 3.30 on Saturday afternoon at the Bits ’n PCs shop in Main Street.

The culprits fled when the shopkeeper shouted for help. He was unhurt and was working as usual this week.

The shopkeeper said: “I really hope they catch these guys. A passer-by told me they ran off to the Tesco car park which would have been jumping at that time. I’d ask anyone who saw them to come forward.”
