This week is officially the start of the countdown to Christmas as the lights gets turned on in Bellshill and Motherwell.
The fun begins next to St Andrew’s Church in Main Street, Bellshill, tomorrow (Thursday) at 3.30pm as Town Centre Activities’ specially written pantomime Mother Goose takes to the stage.
Edward Reid plays the part of Mother Goose and will be joined by Bellshill-singer Lisa McKechnie.
Just like last year’s mini panto, this year’s event promises to deliver plenty of laughs for kids and adults alike.
Then on Sunday it is Motherwell’s turn as the festivities kick-off at noon with a real Reindeer Parade leaving from Windmills Cafe on Brandon Parade East and making its way through Motherwell Shopping Centre to a special pen.
Entertainment starts at 2.30pm on the main stage, situated just outside Wetherspoons, and will feature performances from local acts.
At 3.30pm Lisa McKechnie will be joined by Lee Reynolds for a performance of Mother Goose.
On both occasions the Angels from Heart Radio will also be on hand giving away free Santa hats to everyone in attendance and children can post their letter to Santa in the very special postbox.
As long as there’s a name and address on the letter they’ll receive a letter back, all the way from the North Pole.
The fun filled afternoons will be finished off with the Christmas lights being switched on by North Lanarkshire provost Jim Robertson.
