The six LAPs, serving Motherwell, Bellshill, Wishaw, Airdrie, Coatbridge and the North, were established in 2005 and there has been only limited analysis of their performance during that period.

The review will examine the partnerships’ role, purpose, along with the style of working and their method of operation.

It will also look at ways of enhancing their role in finding new ways to improve services and outcomes for communities.

LAPs feature representatives from the council, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Lanarkshire, the voluntary sector, Jobcentre Plus, colleges, Scottish Enterprise, SPT and Skills Development Scotland.

Members of the public can participate in the decision-making process by bringing issues for discussion, contributing to debates and questioning elected members and officials from the council and partner agencies.
