COSMIC Bowl at M&D’s hosted a charity head shave recently.

Brave Ann Hamilton (38), who works for Brake Brothers in Tannochside, decided to take the plunge in front of colleagues after they organised a night out at the theme park.

Ann, from Hamilton, held the fundraiser in aid of the Scottish SPCA and St Andrew’s Hospice - and reached her target of £1,000.

She said: “When I told my colleagues that I was going to shave my hair for charity, they were keen to witness it, I think in case I pulled out at the last minute!

“When they mentioned that they were hiring lanes at Cosmic Bowl I thought it would be great if I could shave my hair off there to prove to my colleagues that I was going to do it.

“Scottish SPCA and St Andrew’s Hospice are two charities which are really close to my heart and when I decided to shave off my hair, I thought that I would try and raise as much money as possible for these worthy causes.”

She added: “My children are a huge part of why I decided to do this. They are getting to the ages now where they are very aware of looks and appearances and I just wanted to prove to them that even if I don’t look the same as I always have, it doesn’t change who I am.

“M&D’s has been great and also offered to help me with my fundraising by donating two season passes for me to raffle to friends.”

Matthew Taylor, managing director of M&D Leisure Ltd, said: “When I spoke to Ann and she told me her reasons for doing it, I thought it was a great idea and we were happy to help her in any way we could.”
