Churches from throughout the Motherwell and Bellshill areas will get together on Friday for the annual ecumenical World Day of Prayer services.
The service for churches in the Motherwell area will take place at Dalziel St Andrew’s Parish Church, starting at 1.30pm.
And there will be two services in the Bellshill area.
The first will be held at Burnhead Church, Laburnum Road, Viewpark, at 3pm while the second will take place at Bellshill Central Church and will start at 7.30pm.
World Day of Prayer is an inter-denominational, inter-church organisation which enables the voice of women to be heard and the services are open to all.
Each year the service is written by women from a different part of the world, expressing their particular hopes and concerns.
This year’s has been written by the Christian women of the Bahamas and is entitled ‘Jesus Said To Them: Do You Know What I Have Done To You?’.
This year an estimated three million people in over 170 countries throughout the world will gather to observe the day, using the order of service which has been translated into over 1,000 different languages and dialects.
There will be more than 600 services in Scotland alone,
