BELLSHILL singer Lisa McKechnie is hoping a change of image will help her win the Open Mic UK grand final at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, January 15.
Lisa was actually knocked out of the competition at the area final in Manchester, but was given a second chance after a text vote gave her a wildcard entry into the final and as Scotland's sole representative aims to make the most of it.
She said: "Things will need to change as at both the area and regional final I wore a pretty dress and sang a ballad, but obviously that didn't work so I am now aiming to modernise my act.
"For the final I have been working on remixing a hip-hop track and will be getting a makeover, if things aren't working you have to change and hopefully will hit on what the judges are looking for."
The final will be particularly memorable for Lisa as it falls on her 20th birthday and is looking forward to having plenty of support when she performs at the O2.
