Cafe is up for award

Motherwell Dementia Cafe has been nominated in the best dementia friendly community initiative category in Scotland’s first Dementia Awards.

The awards take place at Hampden Park on Thursday, September 20, in celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day, in partnership between Alzheimer Scotland, NHS Education for Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council.

The cafe is hosted by NHS Lanarkshire’s Motherwell Elderly Community Mental Health Team at Fir Park on the first Friday of each month.

The main speaker at the awards will be Nicola Sturgeon, Deputy First Minister and Health Secretary.
