Domino’s Pizza opens a new store in Motherwell on Monday, August 3, more than two years after being granted planning permission.

The company had been looking for a site in the town for nearly a decade and had been looking at taking over part of the Lidl car park next to the police station.

However, with a Tesco Express opening on the former Tilemania site further along Windmillhill Street their attention switched to that location and were awarded planning permission in February 2013.

The new takeway has created 25 full and part-time jobs across a range of roles including pizza makers, customer service staff and delivery drivers.

Pat Dunese, franchisee, said: “Domino’s Pizza Group is continually researching and reviewing locations across the country in which to open new stores.

“We identified Motherwell as a possible location for a new store around ten years ago and it’s with great excitement that we will be opening our doors in a matter of days.

“The new store will generate around 25 new jobs for local people looking to serve pizza lovers in Motherwell with Domino’s freshly made pizza.”
