A Motherwell schoolgirl puts her ‘dad’ on the spot in a new TV advert to be screened for the nation’s favourite biscuit producer, Tunnock’s.

Cathedral Primary School pupil Orlaith McCluskey (6) stuns her on-screen father with the awkward question ‘Where do babies come from?’ in the funny clip.

Her co-star quickly takes a bite of a Caramel Wafer in a bid to delay a response.

The advert for the Uddingston-based company is due to be screened on ITV and Sky, while Orlaith is also the star of a new campaign for clothing retailer M&Co.

And mum Kirsten couldn’t be prouder of the budding actress and model.

She said: “Orlaith is delighted to be appearing in the TV ads for Tunnock’s, as she is one of the leads.

“She has two beautiful ads for M&Co as well, but she is more proud of her Tunnock’s ad as it is a speaking part.

“Orlaith has also been doing some modelling for German company S Oliver.

“She really is a star, I couldn’t be more proud!”

A spokesman for Tunnock’s said: “Orlaith coped extremely well learning her lines and performing like a true professional in front of the cameras for her first ever TV commercial.

“We are planning to meet up again to show her round the Scottish Television studios to see the commercial go out live.”
