North Lanarkshire Industries has added a new service to their business portfolio with the creation of a new secure document storage facility.
The supported employment business, based in Netherton, will provide a service allowing organisations to securely store important information, maintain accurate databases and quickly access records.
Des Murray, head of Housing Property said: “We are continuing to develop employment opportunities within the factory and identify new work opportunities
“The creation of this new secure storage facility will provide extra employment opportunities and provide a valuable, accessible and safe environment for organisations to store their important information.
“Additionally, businesses using the service will be able to benefit from very competitive prices and save on their own storage space – helping support wider asset savings.”
Existing customers using the secure storage facility include the NHS who have transferred many of their non-sensitive records and files to NL Industries to look after, reducing their own storage requirements.
NL Industries was created after North Lanarkshire Council expanded its Beltane Products scheme to take over and run the former Remploy factory.
The organisation marked its first year in business in December and over that time has undertaken many major projects.
These have included producing furniture for the Glasgow 2014 Athletes Village, furnishings for ships in the North Sea oil industry, servicing fire extinguishers, supplying housing and office furniture and setting up links in Malawi.
